History

McBride Law, PC was started in 1994 by Kevin McBride after experience at a highly-regarded insurance litigation firm, Strong & Hanni, and a boutique business litigation firm, Campbell Maack & Sessions. While at Strong & Hanni, Kevin worked on several large commercial insurance coverage cases involving multiple layers of commercial insurance for asbestos related claims. Through this experience, Kevin became highly knowledgeable in all aspects of commercial general liability policies and reinsurance. While at Strong & Hanni, Kevin tried numerous successful jury trials involving business disputes, insurance coverage and employment matters. While at Campbell, Maack & Sessions, Kevin worked primarily on business and securities fraud cases, including the successful jury trial of several such cases.

In striking out on his own, Kevin became an early adopter of technology, using early Macintosh computers, linked via modem, to prepare and file documents in multi-state cases. He also began the model of working with other firms in large cases—mostly financial and employment cases in the airlines industry. Kevin put together and worked with other firms in several airline-related matters, including Brooks v. United Airlines and in preprations for the United Airlines ESOP Litigation; and was heavily involved for several years in helping a group of 5500 UAL pilots and other employees negotiate advantageous changes to the United Airlines Employee Stock Option Plan. Tactical litigation was also successfully used in several aspects of the UAL ESOP negotiations. Kevin was also the attorney in union organizing negotiations in behalf of all United Parcel Service pilots, which became the Independent Pilots Association. That effort also included tactical litigation against the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

As airline consolidation wound down in the late 1990’s, Kevin turned his attention back to litigation of financial matters and securities cases, and also represented an investment bank, Hunter Capital Group, and a resort property developer, the Aspen Group, in finance-related negotiations and litigation.

With a background steeped in intellectual property, employment, general business and finance-related cases, Kevin has continued to represent small business clients in negotiation and litigation in business conflicts involving these areas of law.
